International Children's Song and Dance Festival in Konin

The oldest and largest children's event in the country and Europe.
It popularizes amateur artistic movement of children and adolescents. There are 2.000 participants showing their skills. Children from all over Europe, as well as Israel, Japan and the United States have appeared so far. Initially, it was a dance contest, a few years later when singing children joined, it became a Festival of both arts.
 

Its mission is to discover talented children and promote their creative activity. Singers and dancers (soloists, duets, teams) to 16 years of age participate in the competition. The initial selection of dancers is based on the submitted DVD, and CD in case of singers. The latter also take part in a live qualifying round (only Polish children!). The next eliminations take place during the Festival. Only the best of the best appear in the Gala Concerts. Children and adolescents are judged by two separate boards of jury. The boards are composed of celebrities, writers, composers, voice carers, educators, choreographers of dance, as well as producers and directors, who confer in Konin the following awards:

- Grand Prix in dance,
- Grand Prix in song,
- Gold, Silver, Bronze Applauses and an honourable mention - in each category,

The International Children's Song and Dance Festival in Konin is organised under the auspices of individuals, institutions and organizations closely associated with the creation and dissemination of culture, and affairs of the Youngest.

- World Organization of Festivals FIDOF, gathering the largest and most famous festivals in the world.


Many present stars of the Polish film and stage had their debut in Konin Amphitheatre ,,Na Skarpie", including Krzysztof Antkowiak, Marysia Sadowska, Patrycja Markowska, Alicja Bachleda-Curuś and Marina Łuczenko. Festival has co-operated with the most eminent figures of the Polish entertainment - stage, theatre, film and television, including: Ewa Bem, Marek Bałata, Danuta Błażejczyk, Olga Bończyk, Jacek Cygan, Urszula Dudziak, Stanisław Fiałkowski, Piotr Galiński, Patrycja Gola, Zbigniew Górny, Piotr Hajduk, Justyna Holm, Krzysztof Ibisz, Krzysztof Jaślar, Jerzy Kryszak, Wanda Kwietniewska, Dariusz Lewandowski, Grażyna Łobaszewska, Czesław Majewski, Wojciech Malajkat, Michał Milowicz, Dorota Miśkiewicz,  Agata Młynarska, Mateusz Polit, Robert Rozmus, Jacek Skubikowski, Lora Szafran, Janusz Tylman, Ewa Uryga and many more

This event is documented and popularized by the media - both press and electronic, operating on a local, regional and national level. The Gala Concerts of the International Children's Song and Dance Festival at the Amphitheatre "Na Skarpie" are usually seen by 10 thousand spectators. The Festival is traditionally closed with granting Applauses and fireworks display.
